DUKE

History
James B. Duke had a remarkable vision in 1924 -- to transform a regional liberal arts college into one of the world's top institutions of higher education. Younger than most other prestigious US research universities, Duke University consistently ranks among the very best. Its graduate and professional schools -- in business, divinity, engineering, the environment, law, medicine, nursing and public policy -- are among the leaders in their fields.

Duke is situated on nearly 9,000 acres in Durham, North Carolina. Home of the Blue Devils, Duke University has about 13,000 undergraduate and graduate students and a world-class faculty helping to expand the frontiers of knowledge. The university has a strong commitment to applying knowledge in service to society, both near its North Carolina campus and around the world.

Courses offered
The University is organized into various schools and institutes that provide a whole plethora of undergraduate, graduate and professional courses.

Admission procedure/cycle (month/date)
The university encourages applicants to apply electronically. Application instructions and submission deadlines are put up every year, and can be accessed from the official website.

Duke also offers a limited number of athletic scholarships to undergraduates of extraordinary talent and accomplishment.

While the Duke Financial Aid Office is happy to advise graduate students on financial aid approaches for funding graduate study, the Office Specialises in undergraduate financial aid. Each of Duke's graduate schools and programs offer comprehensive financial aid. For details specific to each school or program, please visit the university's official website.

Duke's relationship with India also extends to other parts of Duke University.
